The comic strip is about a small boy who builds amazing inventions with cardboard, tin cans and shirt hangers, but everyone else thinks they're just toys. In the first strip, he builds a robot, and they become fast friends throughout the entire series.
(When I scanned it in it kinda got messed up, so bear with me until I figure out a way to get it accurately digitized.)
